Caramelized Brussels Sprouts

Nothing worse than limpy steamed tasteless veggies right? At least that’s how I remember childhood brussels sprouts. But good food is all about the seasoning and cooking technique, so be sure to try preparing the fall veggie this way: Crispy and caramelized with just the right balance of sweet and saltiness, this recipe will surely covert anyone to a brussels sprout lover! Cruciferous vegetables like brussels are incredibly healthy for us, helping to protect our cells against free radicals and are full of vitamin C and K!

Serves four

Ingredients: (preferably organic)

  • 2-3 cups brussels sprouts, trimmed & halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • garlic powder
  • pink Himalayan salt

Directions:

01. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees celsius.

02. On a parchment paper lined baking sheet, spread out the brussels sprouts, add olive oil, maple syrup, garlic powder and salt. 

03. Bake for 30 minutes until crispy and caramelized. Enjoy!
